I've been working for the past few months on developing a "theory of voluntary security attestations" -- building on the outlines drawn by #CyberResilienceAct's Article 25, I think there is an opportunity for many #OpenSource projects/communities to become sustainably funded as a result of this new EU cybersecurity regulation.

As a post- #FOSDEM2026 consideration, I did contract a standard #rhinovirus (negative for flu and COVID) and lost 3-4 days of work this time. Not a whole month like last year, but serious productivity problem and sadly missed the (0penemnedded summit). I was masked indoors at all times during the event.

At this point , I am seriously considering only #FOSDEM outdoors: make myself available for a series of outdoor meetings and watch talks on video.

Just caught up on this great talk at @fosdem #FOSDEM2026 from the people at @dangerzone about how to create reproducible containers images (with docker or podman) Definitely a few gotchas in there and stuff I wasn't aware with, but I have been wondering about this topic recently:

Wow. That shit is terrible: so a friend organized this spontaneous, friendly, DIY, mutual aid booth within the ULB during FOSDEM.

In a few hours, they got evicted by someone from the official staff of the conference. What the fracking flooding fuck? I'll add more details after.
