There’s still time for governments to follow through with the promises made at the start of this COP, and turn hope into real action.
That means a clear roadmap for fossil fuel phase out, an end to deforestation across the Amazon and other forests, and credible climate finance that makes polluters and the wealthiest emitters pay for the losses and damages hitting communities worldwide.
Belém can still deliver an historic outcome if leaders choose the people over profits.
