Detail of a painting with a shadowy form on the left and a lighter blue grey area on the right. The main feature is a green circle between the two, look at how it interacts with them both. The border with the black area is sharply defined, while on the other side it bleeds out in a halo, I think because the untreated canvas soaked up some of the paint. Travelling down the edge there is a faint green glow, as if the source of the colour is about to come around a corner to be fully revealed.

Detail of the left edge of a painting. The black frame can be seen and butting up against it are 2 large yellow splodges (technical term). In both you can see craters left by bubbles of paint bursting as they dried. The yellow contrasts strongly with and bleeds into the majority of the visible image which is a richly textured blue that evokes the ocean.

Detail of a painting, using acrylics I think on untreated canvas. The upper part is white over blue, where the white thickens into lumps as you scan right before being taken over by two shades of green and the blue at the edge.
The lower half is yellowish green and includes an implied border one third along where the paint has been laid on so thickly that it has dried in ridges that raise shadow. You can almost here the sticky, tearing sound that the brush would have made when adding the paint.
