Valve's Proton compatibility layer (based on WINE) has made a big splash by allowing most Windows PC games to run on Linux. Now the company is bringing support for Android games with Lepton (which is based on Waydroid). https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2025/12/valves-version-of-android-on-linux-based-on-waydroid-is-now-called-lepton/ #valve #SteamOS #Linux #Gaming #LinuxGaming #Android #Lepton #Waydroid

Someone on the Steam subreddit was asking for Valve to make a #SteamOS phone (seeing how the new VR headset is Arm but also playes x86 steam games). And I thought "Hey, I've already got #PostmarketOS on a phone. We know Valve is using some 'FEX' library. How hard could it be?"

As it turned out, remarkably easy. (Though, it helps that someone already wrote a guide for it: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Steam )

Pretty sure it's a YMMV situation, but my milage was pretty good.

#SteamOS ganz klar. Am Besten über #CloudDeck

Geht aber auch super mit #LinuxMint

@pallenberg

@pallenberg

Valve's upcoming Steam Frame is a VR headset that brings a major update to SteamOS. Originally a Linux-based OS for AMD-powered handheld & desktop PCs, it now runs on an ARM-based VR device that supports Linux, Windows, and Android games + streaming. https://www.uploadvr.com/valve-steam-frame-official-announcement-features-details/ #SteamFrame #Valve #VR #SteamOS
