Is matching the stripes or other pattern resisting you? Try pulling a ladder stitch!
You just sew from one pattern edge to another and then tighten the thread. Magic! Sew on properly afterwards once the patterns are matched!

A short six second clip of exactly that. A shoulder dart has had the dart outlined in pink basting thread, and then between each edge of the dart the sewing needle has been brought up or down through the matching points, so that when the zigzag shaped thread is pulled to a straight line, the edges meet perfectly where the needle entered or exited. The horizontal stripes of the flannel now meet. Poorly lit and cluttered, but a demonstrative clip.

Relatedly: Sewing is such a dainty and delicate hobby, in no way at all will you develop interesting new callouses and pierce the tips of your fingers so many times that the skin comes off in sort of strata... 😅 And this is with me using thimbles!

A very close up photo of the fingertips of Sini's right hand. There are, indeed, interesting tiny callouses and the skin of her pointer finger looks absolutely shredded like it's been experiencing minute damage for several weeks, healing over again and again, now a sort of pink fingertip with plates of dry skin attempting to flake off, but also polished to a high shine by constant contact. It's not a huge amount of wear, but it's on a very very small area.

Hey, pssst! Sewing nerds. Yes you, sewing a nice #EPP project. 🧵
Could be that I'm late to the party, but do you know these document folders? With lots of nice, expanding divisions to stow away thick bundles of papers? Just perfect to store your sewn together segments/blocks.
Sorry, just had to share my discovery. 😅

Lilac plastic documents folder. In some of the sections are colourful handsewn hexagon flowers out of fabric für bigger quilt projects.
