#MythologyMonday #Celtic: `The term by which Bres is described is gormac which means „a dutiful son“, 'an adopted son' (adopted for the support of the adopter), or 'a sister's son`.
When Nuadu was no longer suitable to be their king, their wives said it would be better to give the kingship to their adopted son Bres, or Eochaid Bres, son of Elatha. Bres‘s father, Elatha son of Delbaeth, was a king of the Fomoire, and his mother Ériu daughter of Delbaeth, belonged to the Tuatha Dé Danann.`

Copy of a flyer distributed by The Green Brigade at a September 2025 Celtic FC match:
"In recent years we've witnessed ugly scenes of division and violence across towns and cities in England. Sadly, we've started to witness similar creep into Scotland and Ireland. At the root of it lies years of scapegoating - politicians and an enabling, right wing media pointing the finger at minorities while ignoring the real struggles faced by the working class.
Communities are breaking under the weight of poor housing, crumbling services, low paid work, rising costs, and capitalist greed. Instead of taking responsibility, those in power seek an easier target - blaming refugees and asylum seekers for their own repeated failures.
The Irish who led who fled famine were once met with the same hostility. Today, people escaping war, poverty, and oppression face those very same suspicions. Our own club was born from immigration from people riving in the East End of Glasgow with little more than hope.
As Celtic supporters, it is particularly important we do not allow resentment to be turned against those who are now seeking safety and prosperity in our city today.
Glasgow, and especially Celtic Park, should be a place of justice, inclusion, and solidarity. This season, the Green Brigade will continue our initiative of inviting refugees into the North Curve - beginning with this afternoon's match.
If you see our guests in the curve today please continue to offer a warm welcome and remind the world that Celtic supporters reject racism in all forms.
REFUGEES WELCOME"

Ghost turnips, the púca, fortune-telling and evil abductions...how our ancestors inspire our #Halloween celebrations.
Did you know that many of the Halloween celebrations we enjoy today owe their origins to the ancient festival of Samhain, celebrated by our #Celtic ancestors? Halloween is the eve of Samhain, which falls on November 1 and was one of four important seasonal markers (Quarter Days) in the traditional #Irish calendar
