Car buying might become a little less stressful in California. Here’s why

Gov. Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill that would have raised the fees when buying a vehicle in California and signed another to make purchase terms clear

Interesting piece from early in the year about the high price of eating out.

I've been feeling shocked by it myself; for all my poorly-paid career I've always been able to afford to eat out, as basically my one indulgence. Nowadays I find a lot of places are just beyond my budget. It's an uneasy feeling.

I know there are a lot of reasons for the price rises, but I suspect a prime villain are building owners endlessly raising commercial rents.
