@berlinfediday thanks so much for a wonderful day #BerlinFediDay ! Stimulating presentations and great company!

We had to leave earlier, but coincidentally, after my last post, I was fortunate enough to meet two people in person who enrich the #Fediverse: @quintessence , as well as @_elena It was awesome! It was nice meeting you two!

I could also explain the federation concept applied here, in e-mails and Matrix to two young women who studied computer science.

Unfortunately, I cannot attend the event during the weekend, but it promises to be really good! Hopefully, I can watch some presentations later, even from the airport..

Good morning Fedi friends!

Rehearsing my #BerlinFediDay presentation this morning to make sure I can do it in 12 minutes tops…. Because I have a little surprise at the end, so I can’t use my full 15 minutes 😉

A tale of 2 rehearsals: back in May, when I was getting ready to present at #JDLL in Lyon I had to rehearse in the back of the car next to my 4-year-old… who was listening to children’s stories in French over the car system. For 4 hours. It was a marathon rehearsal for me, a real test of concentration.

I thought: easy for this one - I’m traveling alone in the plane, I’ve got a 90 minutes flight… so I can practice my speech in peace. Well, think again. My two French seatmates spent the entirety of the flight loudly discussing playing music gigs and their experiences with various drugs 😵‍💫

Which scenario did I prefer for prepping my speech? Neither one… thankfully I’ve got 2 hours in my hotel room now 😅

I look forward to meeting Fedi friends and followers later today and I hope I will do a good enough job conveying my love for the Fediverse.

And I can’t wait to listen to the presentations by @andypiper

Sorry if I've been quiet over here, but I've been busy preparing my presentation for @berlinfediday, writing blog posts and also prepping for podcast and radio interviews. It's been a really busy month 😅​

My little FOSS win of the day is convincing my husband to open up an account on @wallabag as Pocket is closing down. He had selected a centralized read-it-later service but I insisted: "if a FOSS alternative exists, go for it" so he did 🥳​

Now dashing off to rehearse my #BerlinFediDay presentation that needs to be 12 minutes or less. A challenge since I could talk about the Fediverse and my love for it for HOURS.
