Cory Doctorow ( @pluralistic) brachte das in seinem ermutigenden und sehr empfehlenswerten Vortrag «A post-American, enshittification-resistant internet» am diesjährigen «Chaos Computer Congress» ziemlich gut auf den Punkt und fordert auf, ein «neues» Internet ohne #BigTech mitzugestalten.
Da sind wir natürlich mit dabei! 🙂

As a hobby, for close to 4 years, I’ve been developing @silverbulletmd a #selfhosted #OpenSource #markdown based note taking app that is programmable with #Lua. I’m currently finding ways to make spending more time on #SilverBullet financially sustainable as its user base has been growing significantly over the years.
In addition, I’m increasingly interested in the #selfhosting community, looking for more ways to break away from #BigTech and to gain more #DigitalSovereignity by regaining control and ownership of the digital assets I care about.

Absolutely, @bjoernsta ! The numbers behind #SaveSocial clearly show that German civil society is mobilizing.
Based on experiences in Brazil and Europe, I’ve seen that fragmentation can unintentionally weaken political leverage. While petitions are essential for mobilizing citizens at the national level, the #LeaveX campaign focuses on a different layer of power: the European politicians and institutions that continue to legitimize X despite its growing role in political destabilization.
The Leave X campaign centers precisely on this legitimacy gap. Combining citizen mobilization with European-level political pressure could have a greater impact than either approach alone.
We’d be open to exploring how these efforts could converge.
