I've put together a basic home page for #FluConf2026
Feel free to ask questions if anything is unclear and I'll update the page as necessary on an ongoing basis.
I'm thinking about possible themes for #FluConf2026, with the current leading contender being "Resilience among failing institutions" or something along those lines.
What do people think?
I've put together a basic home page for #FluConf2026
Feel free to ask questions if anything is unclear and I'll update the page as necessary on an ongoing basis.
It's taken me longer to get to this than I had hoped, but #FluConf2026 is under development!
As with the inaugural 2025 edition, FluConf 2026 is being planned as an online alternative to FOSDEM for COVID-cautious people who are involved with or interested in FOSS and free culture.
It will take place on the weekend of January 31st and February 1st, 2026.
Once again, the format will be a bit of an experiment. In the interest of reducing the amount of necessary time and coordination, there will be no call for proposals and review period. If you want to share something for FluConf then you are welcome to do so. As long as your contribution is within the bounds of the Code of Conduct then I'll include it in a curated overview on the FluConf website.
I'm working on updating the website, so more details will be available very soon. In the meantime, start thinking about what you might want to share with the community on the event's dates.
@onepict I'm doing what I can to reduce how much I actually need to do this time around 😄
Hopefully it will be more of a "with us" situation than a "for us".
The first one was really great in that regard, with people taking it upon themselves to announce upcoming sessions and pick out prominent quotes to get people interested 🥰
This time I'm going to try to encourage that style of active participation, and maybe by 2027 #FluConf will just be something that spontaneously happens
