We had planned to migrate this account to a new Gotosocial instance (gts.cryptography.dog) some time after FluConf2026 had wrapped. Since there are now known Mastodon bugs and the version we're running is no longer supported, we're going to accelerate that plan.

The new account ( @fluconf@gts.cryptography.dog) is already available if you want to follow it now. Otherwise, the account migration process should take care of that automatically over the next few days.

There are many scary things going on in the world, so it's completely understandable if you're finding it difficult to talk about the things that bring you joy.

Even so, if you have something that you're proud of, which you were thinking of sharing anyway, consider doing so as a part of FluConf 2026.

It doesn't need to be big or world-changing. It can simply be a reminder that there are others still taking the time to create things for those around them.

The online event is scheduled for January 31st and February 1st, 2026, and will take place primarily here on the Fediverse.

You can share your proposal any time up until the end of January 30th (two weeks from now) but doing so sooner will allow more time for word to spread about your contribution.

1. We're going to launch a form to accept submissions, but it's not quite ready yet. It will be announced when it's available, so in the meantime please avoid emailing proposals.

2. Our Code of Conduct indicates that we don't accept proposals from employees of organizations engaged in contracts with law enforcement, military, or intelligence agencies. If you aren't sure whether that applies to you, please consult your employer before contacting us.
