The tech industry's layers are remarkably fluid.
Abstractions like Fastlane, CI providers, or generated projects filled critical gaps. But as layers evolve, some become unnecessary.
At Tuist, automation is mostly LLMs + bash now. We're moving to vanilla Xcode projects as the ecosystem matures. GitHub's "runs-on" was a similar shift.
Building a company? Balance sales with product. Lose the ability to spot these shifts, and your solution might become obsolete.
