🏥 North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary, Stoke-On-Trent. Without a doubt, my favourite abandoned hospital! So many old operating theatres date from between the 1920s and 1970s; many still had power when I explored a few years ago. Sadly, all these areas are now demolished.

For Halloween…

This is the Bakemono Zukushi Monster Scroll, circa est. 18th–19th century. The artist is unknown. It depicts the “yōkai” from Japanese folklore. Specifically shapeshifters known as “ bakemono” or “obake.” They’re also popular in mangas/anime.

An old Gothic crypt, lost and forgotten in the forest of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The vaulted ceiling is tall and arched with strong ribs in classic Gothic style. Long vines hang down from the ceiling, having worked their way down through the roof. The beautiful red and black floor tiles caught my eye as I walked in!
