Did you participate in #swib25 by watching some sessions in the live stream or joining a hands-on workshop? Then please take some minutes to fill out the post-conference survey: https://forum.swib.org/t/swib25-post-conference-survey/1602
I just presented "Shacl4Bib, custom metadata validation of library catalogues" at #swib25 https://bit.ly/qa-swib25
#SWIB25 just ended. Thanks to all participants, speakers, and workshops facilitators and to the programme committee!
If you have missed a talk, some recordings of SWIB25 talks are already uploaded, more will follow, see the playlist at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=172mkON617g&list=PL7fMsenbLiQ3HIQDE065KaTp4XFz7CB0_

Thanks to @julsraemy at #swib25, today I learned the source of the " #Standards are made by the people who show up" quote: Dave Cramer (2016), https://medium.com/@dauwhe/w3c-and-idpf-better-together-c92988674444
For more information on Julien's presentation, based on his PHD thesis, see https://forum.swib.org/t/linked-open-usable-data-for-cultural-heritage-community-building-and-semantic-interoperability-in-practice/1443
I am going to grab a coffee and then watch the live stream for day 1 of #swib25 which will start in a few minutes at https://forum.swib.org/t/swib25-livestream-chat/850
Things are getting real. The first day of #SWIB25 has started, workshops are already running and we are getting very excited.
The main conference and live stream will start at 14:00 UTC with a short opening address followed by @brewsterkahle's keynote.
If you want to join the live conference chat, register for the forum and live stream: https://forum.swib.org/t/swib25-registration/1460#p-3140-register-for-the-forum-and-live-stream-1

"ARK persistent identifiers: affordable long-term citation and access to cultural heritage"
Nov 17 (Mon) 04:00 - 05:00 UTC
> This one-hour tutorial introduces ARK (Archival Resource Key) persistent identifiers. As decentralized, non-paywalled PIDs (persistent identifiers, permalinks) for information objects of any kind, ARKs support web addresses that do not break (e.g., that do not return 404 Page Not Found).

@ink I like it. It might trigger some people to explore JSON-LD/Linked Open Usable Data with regard to #Bibframe where LOUD does not have much traction yet. Also, you can follow up nicely on @julsraemy's Tuesday talk "Linked Open Usable Data for Cultural Heritage: Community Building and Semantic Interoperability in Practice": https://forum.swib.org/t/linked-open-usable-data-for-cultural-heritage-community-building-and-semantic-interoperability-in-practice/1443 #swib25
@acka47 @ink In case, I have written an "extended transcript" or a short paper of my upcoming presentation, available here: https://doi.org/10.48620/92261 #LinkedData #swib25 #iiif #linkedart
I am thinking of proposing a @swib lightning talk about JSON-LD and BIBFRAME metadata, in light of what has been learned about linkeddata here in the fedi, and also remembering Gregg Kellogg.
If we legit want BIBFRAME to replace MARC as an interchange format, can we make it as easy to use as possible by people who don't really care about RDF? This should be possible now, given all the work that has been done on the vocabulary, right?
But maybe this is too pedestrian and obvious? Others like #lobid have already talked about this years ago, so it's not like this is new, and others haven't tried. But maybe it's a good time to try again? Or maybe I just need to find the other people doing this, and help amplify their work? If you care about these niche topics I would be interested to hear from you.
