A ZipAir 787 is being pushed back from its gate, being turned to align with the taxiway. Its engine active beacons are on, and blinked just as the photo was taken, creating bright spots that illuminate the plane and apron around it. The pushback truck also has amber warning beacons on. All these spots produce sharp star-shaped refraction artefacts which look quite nice. It is dusk, and the sky is a faint mix of light grey above and orange towards the horizon, with a few scattered clouds. The apron beyond the immediate distance is completely dark, with only the taxiway edge lights visible. Further in the distance is the active runway, and the blurry shape of a narrow body aircraft taking off is visible, likely an airbus A320. Its engine active beacons also blinked right when the photo was taken.

A portion of the port side of a Boeing 787 widebody aircraft, its tail, as well as a portion of its wing, and the port engine, are visible while the aircraft is being pushed back. The aircraft is painted white, while the tail is pointed in white with blue dots, and a large red maple leaf logo. Along the side of the aircraft, a ground person can be seen walking along the aircraft. They are wearing a bright red/orange high-viz vest. The 787’s tail is the first of a series of other tails visible in the background, from other aircraft parked at their gates.

The tail portion of an airbus a330 widebody aircraft is visible prominently in the centre of the photo. It is being pushed back into the maneuvering section of the apron. The tail is painted black with a large red maple leaf logo in the centre, Air Canada’s logo. Just under the tail cone is a ground person dressed in a bright red high-viz jacket. The size contrast between the large airplane, of which only a small portion is visible, and the person below, looking small, is quite stark.
