Hey #TrainGeeks of Fedi (and #BahnBubble) is there any train numbered RE1 that doesn’t fill you with a sense of dread? If so… where?

Hey Train Fedi: is there a way to see the actual routing of French trains on a map?
I’m trying to reconstruct the route of TGV 5516 between Dijon-Ville and Nancy, via Besançon and Strasbourg.
One of my train logging apps seems to think that it should have taken the LGV between Strasbourg and Nancy, turning left at Champey-sur-Moselle, which makes no sense to me as I can’t see any suitable railway junctions anywhere near there that wouldn’t involve reversing the train in some sort lf siding on open track. It makes more sense to me to turn left at Hérange and enter Nancy via Lunéville even if you don’t stop there and it’s a slow line.
I can’t seem to find a definitive answer to this on any of the SNCF sites, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Trying to cross the country in a single train, already racked up three Deutsche Bahn Bingo slots:
- Delay because of previous journey
- Exceptionally High Demand Expected
- Rail stock switched and seat reservation changed
Let’s hope that’s it.
[Update: raked up a total of 45 mins delay, not too bad given the state of the system, and the train was not as full in the end]
That reminds me, I wanted to ask: does the #BahnBubble know why train journeys don’t get extended by the duration of the known construction delays on the line?
It seems those are just ignored and that leads to every journey of that train going later and later during a day. Could they just, like, not do that?
A woman in Tokyo has been arrested for pepper-spraying two men on the Yamanote Line. https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2025/10/21/japan/crime-legal/yamanote-line-train-pepper-spray-attack/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=mastodon #japan #crimelegal #yamanoteline #rail #jr #japanesepolice
#BahnBubble
Police arrested a woman in her 30s Monday evening after she allegedly injured two male passengers with pepper spray inside a train on Tokyo’s Yamanote Line.According to investigators, police received an emergency call shortly after 7:40 p.m. from an employee at the JR Otsuka Station in the capital’s Toshima Ward, stating that someone had used pepper spray on the train.
The suspect had pushed past other passengers in order to get to a priority seat, which led to a dispute with a male passenger who chided her, according to police. She then allegedly discharged one of the two pepper spray canisters she had, injuring the man, who is in his 60s, and another man, also in his 60s.
One of the victims was taken to hospital but his injury was minor, police said.
The suspect reportedly told police that she was carrying the spray canisters for self-defense purposes.
The suspect was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault, but was later released on the grounds that she was unable to handle being detained, NHK reported. She has admitted to the charges, according to investigators.
Police plan to question her further on a voluntary basis.
A man in his 50s who was at the station at the time of the incident told NHK, “When I got off my train there were lots of police and firefighters, and I wondered what had happened. Pepper spray is really bad if it gets in your eyes. It’s frightening that something like that was released on a train.”
Another man in his 40s said, “When I got off, a crowd had formed and a man was sitting on a stretcher. I heard that someone used pepper spray and people were injured. It’s really scary.”
The commotion caused by the incident resulted in delays of up to 15 minutes, according to East Japan Railway.
Have had worse views. Private coach as well.
For the #BahnBubble.
