Since it rarely snows in #Cologne 🌞, I thought I'd at least bring back some memories of it at home. And what better place for #snow 🌨️ to come from than... #Texas! 😅 I'm not kidding. My latest #woodcutprint comes from Jack (mokudez), a mechanical engineer living in Texas who creates #mokuhanga in his free time. I really love this print and Jack's thoughtful note on the back truely made my day.

I don’t know its full background, but from the style I’d guess it’s a #SōsakuHanga piece, probably from the #Shōwa era.

Kathleen Mary Drew-Baker (キャスリーンメアリードリューベイカー 1901-57) is not well known in her homeland, but in Japan she has become a national hero, remembered at Sumiyoshi-jinja in Uto (宇土 - Kumamoto Prefecture) as the savior of the seaweed industry.
