-H.R. 1623, Shielding Children's Retinas from Egregious Exposure on the Net (SCREEN) Act

-H.R. 6290, Safe Social Media Act

-H.R. 6253, Algorithmic Choice and Transparency Act

-H.R. 6259, No Fentanyl on Social Media Act

-H.R. 6289, Promoting a Safe Internet for Minors Act

-(Draft), Safeguarding Adolescents From Exploitative (SAFE) Bots Act

-The House version of KOSA removes the highly controversial "duty of care" provision. This sets up a showdown with Senate GOP who want it in.

-RESET Act (under 16 social media ban, doesn't mandate AV)

-Sammy's Law (surveillance on minors)

-SCREEN Act (Most broad AV law of them all)

-App Store Accountability Act (AV for App stores)

-KOSA (especially if the Senate gets their way)

-Parents over Platforms (AV for mobile apps, similar to the App Store Accountability Act)

The Electronic Frontier Foundation raised concerns to California lawmakers about some proposed online safety laws for kids.

They warned that things like age verification, parental controls, and content restrictions could actually harm young people's rights, especially their free speech.

Instead, the EFF recommends a strong privacy law that gives people more control over their data as a smarter, more effective solution.
