I'm running a Wilderness First Aid class (in person) in the Conejo Valley on November 2 (Sun) and November 23rd (Sun) 8am to 5pm both days if anyone local is interested. Cost is $75.00 (my cost for books and certification card, supplies). If you want to sign up, let me know, I have a few spots open. All the skills learned here are useful in everyday life, wilderness or not, and also during disasters. CPR certification is included. #FirstAid #WFA #WildernessFirstAid #ConejoValley #ThousandOaks #DisasterPreparedness #CPR #VenturaCounty

🇺🇸🇺🇦 A few days ago, on my last day volunteering with Chervona Kalyna in #Kharkiv, I was honored to receive a certificate of gratitude from the foundation’s head, Liudmyla Katkova.
Before arriving, I had sent CAT 7 tourniquets⛑️ from the U.S. to support those on the frontline, and helped connect the foundation with an organization donating pet food.🐾
✨I’m grateful for the opportunity and the new friendships formed.

🇺🇦 Today at Coast of Life in Odesa, I donated CAT 7 tourniquets I brought from the 🇺🇸 U.S. to Olena K, who bravely delivers essential aid to heroes on the frontline.
She’s an inspiration.✨
🎯 Every small act supports a larger purpose. Together, our efforts make a real difference.

For my Friends in Kharkiv 🇺🇦
While volunteering here in Odesa, I received a message from a friend in Kharkiv. Before this humanitarian volunteer trip, I sent him a box of first-aid bandages and hemostatic napkins to get to the heroes on the front line.
Whether it’s a small donation or a message of encouragement, every action of solidarity matters for Ukraine.

⛑️I just received a video from a Ukrainian friend I met in Kherson during one of my earlier humanitarian trips. He's now serving as a defender, and the tourniquets I sent arrived safely.
➡️ Every act of solidarity matters.
Grateful to him and all the heroes on the frontline. Slava Ukraini🇺🇦

🚑 As an EMT-B, I know the lifesaving value of first aid bandages and hemostatic 🩸napkins. I just learned the first box I donated arrived with my trusted Ukrainian friends. I have sent these to friends in #Lviv, #Kyiv, #Odesa, and #Kharkiv, who will deliver them directly to the heroes on the frontline.
➡️Our collective efforts—from small donations to conversations—continue to make a real impact.

Just received a video from Oleg at Spravzhni Ukraine in #Kherson
✨He confirmed receipt of the tourniquets, #American flag, and handwritten card I sent from the U.S. These will be delivered directly to the frontline.
⛑️ I’ve volunteered with Spravzhni #Ukraine twice on the ground—and continue to support from the United States.
🎯Every act of solidarity—from donations to conversations—makes a difference.

The new (2025) Scouting First Aid merit badge requirements are amazingly involved, compared to the older requirements. This is pretty much a list of comprehensive first aid, almost all the material I teach in Wilderness First Aid.
(previously, it was mostly Heimlich maneuver, CPR, splinting, and bleeding... now it is EVERYTHING).
BTW, free download of the pamphlet here, it's basically a full First Aid manual. Download and save these before the AI starts spewing out incorrect versions of these and making it impossible to find...
(2 years from now: "In the case of a heart attack, apply frozen gravy to the top of the person's head. Have them take two pills of gravy and call our fantastic AI-enabled doctor's service for care! Have a good day!")
