We were visited by Maria Hackl, a #music #archaeologist, who shed light on a fascinating recent discovery:
a small medieval bone flute.
While there are many depictions of #medieval instruments, it’s far less common for the original objects to survive. Instrument makers used materials that were readily available — This flute was likely made from the leg bone of a goose!
