🕯On 2 August 1944, around 4,300 Roma and Sinti were murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau, ending of the so-called ‘Gypsy family camp’.

This was part of the Roma Holocaust, which took over 500,000 lives.

Today we honour the memory of victims & stand against prejudice of Romani people.

👨🏼‍🏫With the Council of Europe, we're working to bring Roma Holocaust history in school curricula across Europe, so young people can grow up embracing inclusion.

A line drawing of a candle with a flame, set against a circular background resembling the Romani flag, featuring red and blue colours with white segments radiating from the centre. Below the candle, it’s written 'WE REMEMBER'. The wall background in the image has a rough and weathered texture, with visible peeling paint and discoloration. It gives off a rustic appearance, suggesting age and wear. The EU flag in the bottom right corner.

@EUCommission this is good reminder to all of us in the history that why privacy laws are there in the first place.

#ageverification just waits breach to happen, then this data can be abused or if bad actor has acccess.

Making chats #unencrypted and forcing apps to have backdoor leads to authoritanians and if some people disagree they will be chased down.

Privacy is #humanright and thus #ChatControl needs to be stopped.

Dont let the history repeat itself...
