@NosirrahSec So the Outer Space Treaty says that it has to go back to the country of origin. But it doesn't specify who you have to give it back to.

Maybe Boeing would like to buy SpaceX parts?

@sundogplanets @NosirrahSec Is SpaceX scrupulously living up to its responsibilities under the Outer Space Treaty?
Or are they protected but not bound #WilhoitsLaw ?

Screenshot from the article: "Wiloitism is shot through the Maga movement. The Flu Klux Klan wants to ban you from wearing a mask for health reasons, but they will defend to the death the right of ICE brownshirts to run around in gaiters and Oakleys as they kidnap our neighbors off the streets.

Conservative bedwetters will donate six figures to a Givesendgo set up by some crybaby with a viral Rumble video about getting 86'ed from a restaurant for wearing a Maga hat, but they literally want to imprison trans people for wearing clothes that don't conform to their assigned-at-birth genders.

They'll piss and moan about being "canceled" because of hecklers at the speeches they give for the campus chapter of the Hitler Youth, but they experience life-threatening priapism when students who object to the Israeli genocide of Palestinians are expelled, arrested and deported.

Then there's their abortion policies, which hold that personhood begins at conception, but ends at birth, and can only be re-established by forming an LLC.

It's "in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect" all the way down."

Just FYI,"Wilhoit's Law" is actually from a 2018 blog response by 59-year-old Ohio composer Frank Wilhoit [Wikidata], years after political scientist Francis Wilhoit's death.
It is often incorrectly attributed to Francis M. Wilhoit, a political scientist.

Jessie Gender's account on Bluesky suspended seemingly because she said "I also wish ill will to JK Rowling" https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:zy7ifa3dmd46dcrbjkgkg2xz/post/3lwiszke4bk2x

Jessie Gender shares:

Gotta laugh to keep from being pissed - my Bluesky account got suspended - presumably because I did a post saying "I also wish ill to JK Rowling" in response to and solidarity with another trans person getting her account suspended for saying the same. So that's the state of things on Bluesky nowadays. It's ok though, JK Rowling can still actively use her money to harm trans people and also get a multibilion dollar tv series, don't worry!

@cwebber That’s the #authoritarian #conservative playbook: They break all the rules, but demand you still play by them.

Just another prime example of #wilhoitslaw: The core value of conservatism is that there is an in-group of people who are protected by the rules, and another one who are bound by them but not protected.

Instead of having rule of law, you have rule by law and immunity from persecution. Instead of starting from what, they begin from who and make up the rest.

The untrammeled greed of the founders of Philz Coffee -- and the financial looters who are buying the company -- is exceeded only by their pure contempt for the employees whose shares in the company are being vaporized.

How can this be legal? Because "capitalism" rules.

@dangillmor ”There must be in-groups who the law protects but does not bind, and out-groups who the law binds but does not not protect.”
-Frank Wilhoit

This is the only true rule of conservatism.

And it was made in the context of pointing out that we have no other politics than #conservatism left.

All parties today protect the wealthy at the price of hurting the non-wealthy. Only different flavours of implementing #wilhoitslaw remain in power.

This needs to change.
