There have been so many really cool developments in the last month just from adoption.

Recently someone hiked up Mt Rainer and had a conversation with us on the public meshcore chat. When I went through the cougar mountain repeater's logs I noticed my repeater in Seattle's U District was actually the first hop that was connecting them to the mesh.

If that wasn't wild enough, the hiker was using a TINY radio, the Seeed Studio t1000e 🤯

A few weeks after the Mt Rainer feat, some friends went camping and hiking all around the Orcas islands and we never lost contact at all.

At times they had better connection to the mesh while camping than they do in the city.

They hiked up Mt Constitution and were able to get direct line of sight connections to repeaters in Seattle using a typical handheld LoRa radio with an external antenna.

‘I’m fascinated by interspecies interactions. I question: is it just social interaction or are these encounters driven by deeper connections, communication, or even cooperation? These two bottlenose dolphins were riding the humpback’s wake then swimming to its eye and pausing. It was like a reunion of old friends in a fleeting moment.’ Nyangbul country, Lennox Head, New South Wales.

Winner – monochrome: Party Streamer

‘Orca WA007 joyfully leaps out of the Bremer Canyon after devouring a Cuvier’s beaked whale, her prey’s intestines subtly hanging from her mouth like a festive decoration. Around 300 of these mammal-hunting orcas have been recorded in this remote Southern Ocean hotspot, with unfolding research suggesting they may be their own ecotype.’ Noongar country, Southern Ocean, off Bremer Bay, Western Australia.

#orcas have killed humans:

only in captivity

which makes sense and i don't blame them

but yes, very odd we have no documentation of an #orca killing a human in the wild

we have video of them stalking kayaks, but it seems mere curiosity
