Sadly, someone stole the door, and the place has now been set on fire a few times. Why are people like that? 💔

I love this chamfered corner on James Monro and Son's 1929 shop and warehouse on Argyle Street in Glasgow. While the style is clearly Art Deco, it continues a long Glaswegian tradition of feature corners at important junctions, and it reminds me of the colums of recessed corner bow windows favoured the likes of Alexander 'Greek' Thomson some 70 years previously, and which can be seen on his 1857 terrace on Walmer Crescent on the Southside of Glasgow.
