@clive I never thought of yellow jackets as wasps. I know they’re not bees, so I don’t know what I thought they were. What’s a hornet? Also a wasp?

@davidtoddmccarty @clive According to Wikipedia & others, hornets are a sub-species of wasp. Wasps have a prominent narrow waist between thorax and abdomen.

Biggest wasp? Cicada killer

Yellow and black wasp, a cicada killer, with a cicada the wasp has immobilized. Both large insects are resting on a person's open hand near the fingertips. Background is green grass and trees in the distance.
