Close up of a dark brown oak leak with a number of circular galls with a circular raised centre ... think circular fried eggs of poppers on clothes. They are a pale yellow/off white, with speckles. You can't see them but each raised centre has a larvae inside.
A silky, ivory white round headed fungus in grass. Almost jellyfish like. It has a translucent quality.
Some thin, pointed vertical fungus growing on wood. They are individual stems, black like coal dust at the base and a little way up the stem, turning to a powdery white

Une nouvelle étude publiée dans Nature (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-025-09277-4) a utilisé 2,8 milliards de séquences d'ADN pour cartographier la diversité mondiale des champignons mycorhiziens, et les résultats sont urgents.
Ces champignons forment des réseaux souterrains qui nourrissent les forêts, stockent le carbone et soutiennent plus de 80 % de la vie végétale. Pourtant, moins de 10 % de leurs points chauds de biodiversité sont protégés.
Il est temps de reconnaître les champignons comme des alliés essentiels pour la conservation et les solutions climatiques.
