@futzle @aburka @unlambda So at least the #nobot thing should help you now with current hypebot versions
@phnt Absolutely disgusting.
It's not just Pleroma. He just tagged projects that are either commercial or actively seek funding, and ignored everyone else.
He can't even create a proper hellthread :_(
@aburka @unlambda @futzle yes. Futzle's description looks as if not automation is the issue but Mastodon's handling of reposts.
For hypebot it would of course be possible to maintain a central filterlist for people opting out that all hypebot instances refresh periodically. But that still would need people to do that kind of opt-in (for example via a message to a specific Fediverse account to ensure a person can only opt out their own account)

@newsmast why the hell don't you respect #nobot tags in profiles?
now my only option to keep you from parroting me against my explicit wishes is to block your whole domain
even if the description is true that there's a thoughtful group of humans at the helm somewhere, you're acting like spammers and forcing me to treat you like spammers
Hi, thanks for getting in touch.
Unfortunately you're correct, suspending the domain is the best way to stop our Channels picking up your public content.
I've suspended your account from our end so that you'll no longer be featured.
Because we are a team of three people, we've curated these Channels using hashtags and follows. Channels can not read your bio - nor should they be able to.
If you use #NoBot in your post, they won't be featured.

i have a potential domain to block.
tagpush.app
This domain is automatically reposting random hastags. For example its the hastag #selfhosting
It works on a opt-out basis (by adding the #nobot, and #NoBots tag in your profile, or post)
So look out for this instance if these activities are offending for you.
If you are just a user, you can opt-out by blocking the whole domain.
If you have just joined mastodon, a) welcome, and b) the very first thing you need to do is add data to your profile that makes it clear you are an actual person.
I am sorry that we live in this time, none of us want this, but sometime it just be's that way.
We are all hounded by bots, scammers, spies-for-cause, and spies-for-money, all of the time. We simply cannot assume good faith from anyone who has left no trail, or who has left a trail they are not willing to share.
