One of my favourite spinning/yarn facts.
Almost all of your ancestors could spin.
There was a tiny fragment of Neanderthal yarn/twine found in France. It's made from the bast from tree bark......
It's at least 40,000 years old....
It's bloody three ply lace weight yarn. I doubt ANY modern spinner could pull that off, even with all our gadgets and knowledge.

Need something relatively mundane to help with *waves hands at all of the everything*?
How about watching a minimally competent weaver for a bit!

30 inches wide makes it a little slow going because it’s a bit awkward reaching that far. I’m using the big shuttle so I don’t have to wind bobbins so frequently. These will be bath towels to match the hand towels I made a few months ago.
And today, the greatest gift of all : weaving on a neolithic loom (note the wonderful clay weights - aka pesons in french - they're one of the most commons artefacts found from this period and they were usually decorated with dots - when joined, the lines could reveal landscapes) 🥹
