After living in Germany for almost nine years and adopting a stray dog four years ago, the saying "dogs are a person's best friend" makes much more sense. This is true even though I grew up surrounded by dogs.

Um dem Unsinn mit den Feuerwerken an Silvester zu entkommen, fahre ich mit meiner pelzigen Freundin in ein Hotel in der Nähe des Berliner Flughafens. Ich denke, es wird Spaß machen, zufällige Leute und ihre pelzigen Freunde zu treffen und gemeinsam den Beginn des neuen Jahres zu feiern.
Ist es jedoch nicht absurd, dass ich in einer europäischen Großstadt solche Anstrengungen unternehmen muss, um einfach nur eine friedliche und festliche Nacht mit meiner Familie zu genießen?
To escape the stupidity of fireworks on New Year's Eve, I'm going with my furry friend to a hotel near the Berlin airport. I think it'll be fun to meet random people and their furry friends and celebrate the start of the new year together.

Although I have a dog friend and post about her on #Pixelfed, I bet there are many more posts about cats.
It would also be interesting to know about their posting habits, how many active profiles there are, and the posting periods for each group.
