Stuck seat post: still stuck.

Sheared two bolts attempting to leverage it out.

Measured 6 inches of stuck seat post!

Vintage propane canister: bad idea. Still slowly venting out back, the valve jammed open, lol.

bike's thumb shifter is not working.

I am seriously not mechanically inclined, probably because I can't visualize parts and fitment in my head along with congenitally poor motor control, but I guess this will be the start of my DIY bike repair career because I don't have a choice.

it's a Shimano Alfine SL-S500 shifter, bike was sat in storage for 6 years or so, brakes weren't seized at all as a point of reference. the upshift lever has no resistance, the downshift lever doesn't wanna move, bike is stuck in the easiest gear. it's an 8-speed hub transmission if that matters.
