"The NEST Shelter, Taos’ only year-round shelter for the unhoused, is seeking volunteers to help staff the facility after a sudden staffing shortage forced the shelter to close last week. The closure displaced 40 to 50 people who normally rely on the shelter at a time when temperatures begin to drop.
DreamTree Project, which administers the NEST shelter, was forced to close its doors Tuesday (Sept. 23) after the death of a shelter attendant. The shelter reopened Monday (Sept. 30), but with reduced hours, now operating from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. instead of 5:30 p.m. to 8 a.m." Source
