@sashin

We've been using #Element / #Matrix in production in our company for 7 years now, maintain secondary emergency channel on #Signal.

Element is not perfect, has some questionable UX calls, some moments of "Why on earth would anyone..." - but truth is, I have far more such moments with #Slack and Element works "well enough."

Also know #Teams from some customers... and yeah, it's also really not great.

Are there any #Slack users here?

I have a serious question: Why?

Far as I can tell, it is not only a way to give a US corporation full access and control over your most crucial communication patterns.

It is also really confusing, complex, hard to administrate, and riddled with "insert coins to continue" traps.

And I haven't found anything that it does better than alternatives that are decentralised and more secure.

But I know people are using it.

Why? What am I missing?
