Oh, that weird quote button at the bottom left is for the lyrics view (WOULD A TEXT LABEL HAVE KILLED YOU?), and it seems to persist the state when leaving and coming back. I greatly prefer the simpler art/controls layout here.
Scrolling through lists in this app is jittery/janky 🙃
Idk what framework or UI library they’re using but it feels very non-native or at least poorly optimized.
I’m importing my YouTube Music library/playlists to see how the radio and discovery on Apple Music compares. I have mixed opinions of YouTube Music here: their curated stations are usually nice for discovery for me, but I haven’t really ever loved their radio. I’ve heard Apple Music is better; we’ll see!
So far casting is actually… reliable though?? Like YouTube Music just craps itself trying to cast to speaker groups in my house, but Apple Music works perfectly so far.

I got a free trial of Apple Music with my PlayStation so I decided to give it a try as someone who doesn’t own any Apple devices and is not at all a part of that ecosystem.
First impressions: the app is fiiiine but feels dated and kind of like a weird mix of outdated iOS and outdated Android UI. Layout-wise it’s pretty good though. I don’t love the now-playing screen and its extreme focus on lyrics. I am not doing karaoke on my phone!!

Got distracted and added initial support for Widgets and Shortcuts 😅. Create mood playlists via your own workflows sounds cool. What shortcuts would you find useful?

Daft Music 1.6 finally got approved (it took ages), which features the new Radio Engine with built-in Shazam Detection.
Besides a ton of fixes (especially translation-wise), it also reworked the Settings. I also added some new fonts to play around with.
If you are missing Radio Broadcasts, please let me know. I’m also thinking of making the Radio Directory with my modifications open source, since Radio Browser stopped maintaining it.

Sync lights with music, if you have any colour lights connected to the Home app, you can now setup a scene from your Apple Music library!
My pet project for Christmas is coming to an end. Since I rediscovered radio, I needed this feature.
Daft Music now recognize the music on the radio through Shazam, so you can add it to your library or check out the artist.
It took me a bit, since AVPlayer does not support Taps. I had to build a own streaming engine with AVAudioEngine, just so I can grab the AVAudioPCMBuffer.
Works great and is more memory efficient than AVPlayer.

A reminder that if you:
- Are looking to get away from a certain green-themed music streaming platform
- Have playlists and library contents you want to bring
- Are considering #AppleMusic
...you can move over your stuff directly from iOS or iPadOS without having to rely on a separate service and related cost: https://support.apple.com/en-us/118249
"Learn how to add your saved music and playlists that you've created in other music services to your Apple Music library"
In the past I've used #SongShift's free features but it was pretty limited. Nice to see Apple teamed up with them to let you do a full library forklift. Tak!

I'm currently using Apple Music but I started testing out Qobuz today and so far it's pretty good, but I'm not sure if it's good enough to switch. Both are leagues better than Spotify at the very least though.
Hey folks, I have an app update to share!
v1.4 of Flowvi.be is now available on the App Store and it lets you import public playlists from Spotify and SoundCloud.
Imported playlists are converted into mood takes so you can use them as the basis for new playlists... or just save them to your Apple Music library.

Just submitted. I think it's gotten pretty cool.
