continuing to work on #WindowMaker style #DockApps for #Fluxbox. Currently have:
* fluxCalClock
* fluxMatrix
* fluxMoon
* fluxData (for moon and weather data)
* fluxKeyboardLayout
* fluxPowerControl
* fluxMail
and
* fluxPlayer

fluxPlayer is not working well yet, but I don't have a lot of experience with controlling media players remotely. (usually just use #MPV). Working on fluxNetwork now; fluxWeather will be after that.

top right portion of a screenshot, showing window maker style dock apps for the Fluxbox slit. top to bottom we have: fluxCalClock, fluxMatrix, fluxMoon, fluxKeyboardLayout, fluxPowerControl, fluxMail, and fluxPlayer. All are 96px by 96px, black background with green text, and the familiar WM app style indented frame effect.

I used to love those! What desktop are you using. I'm using Cinnamon on Linux Mint and KDE Plasma on Trisquel. Lots fun themes available for them.

@dennyhenke Currently #Gnome, but anything goes as I've been using Linux as my only OS since 1998. I used for a while #KDE but I just can't bring myself to like it, #WindowMaker, #IceWM, #Enlightenment @macthemes

#WindowMaker users. What apps do you use to flesh out the environment? Specifically what file manager do you pair with it? And how do you manage default apps and mimetypes?

Extra credit if the apps in question are in #FreeBSD ports.

Thanks to all who work on #xfce, I never felt so comfortable with a window manager since #windowmaker a decade ago.

Window Maker Live

「 Window Maker Live is an installable Linux Live ISO based on the current Bookworm branch of Debian. The system uses the Window Maker window manager as its default graphical user interface. Window Maker Live's components have been carefully preconfigured and the desktop environment has a consistent visual appearance 」

Are there any WindowMaker users on NetBSD out there, who have Dockapps to recommend? My desktop has wired networking so no need for a radio control, but any system monitors and/or volume controls that blend in nicely with WMaker?
