Of all the quilts I've ever made, and there's been A LOT over the last 20+ years, this is my favorite. It was made during the first weeks of the COVID pandemic as a way to bring color into the world during that very dark time

Once I made a king size quilt of silk that had been dyed traditionally using beets, onion skins, etc. I had some little scraps left and couldn't bear to throw them away, so I made this mini throw.
I never had a security blanket as a child, but lately I've found myself reaching for this for the softness.

A small quilt of two-inch squares in a semi-random distribution of dark red, pink, orange, and pale sage green. It has a cream colored border with a purple stain. It has a lovely sheen because it's pure silk.

Quilt finish day! This is one of my favorite quilts ever, I think. It's a 5'x5' throw made of shirting fabrics I'd collected. Some came from random fabric sales and others came from a friend who graciously gave me the stash she was too old to use.

Foundation-paper pieced, hand-quilted.

The quilt is lying, folded, on top of a well-worn pineapple quilt. Its corner is turned back to reveal the pink check on the back. The worn pineapple quilt looks almost like a shadow of the new one.

The quilt is lying on a red coach in a way that really makes a wheel and spoke aspect of it pop out. There's just a corner peaking out of the underside to show that the backing is a pink check.

an angled view of the pineapple from closer to the floor. This view highlights the individual fabrics. Some are very densly patterned and some are very light. Each block is broadly symmetrical though cuts may impact the effect.

A pineapple style quilt with alternating diagonals of browns and blues in shirting patterns, mostly stripes and plaids. The middle sections are various white and cream shirtings again with stripes and crosshatching. The center squares and corners for each block are bright red with white cross-hatching. The pineapple effect made up of jagged lines hwich can be seen as forming pineapples but also interlocking circles.

69 x 69 in (175 x 175 cm), it is pinwheel shapes and nine boxes , interlocking together, each different colors

... I haven't really posted any progress photos of my quilt, but in between catching up on work and family after my vacation, I have spent my evenings well.

I'm ready to start quilting my fabric sandwich, stitching in the ditch on my Hindeloopen-fabric quilt.

As I'm in the middle of construction of a small quilt out of these fabrics, I noticed that two remaining "Bonten" pieces did not match well with a remaining "Sitse". A lot of web searching later (Hindeloopen style fabrics are difficult to find online, it seems), I found a new "Bonten" which does match to the "Sitse", so tonight I can use these two to create two new blocks.

After washing these fabrics, I noticed the reds had... well, basically most of the whites in fabrics were now pink.

But I saved the fabrics, hardly any pink left to see

And I have been thinking of a quilt (lap size) I want to make and in which combinations. I do not want to wait any longer, so I will start cutting them today.
