The TOS debacle last spring was a warning flag as to Mozilla's future direction, and I started checking out some of the projects that build browsers on top of the current Firefox codebase. My top three: Librewolf focuses on privacy, Waterfox clears out the cruft, and Zen tries to create a "calm" internet experience similar to Arc.
Interestingly, all three of them have made statements about in-browser "AI" in the last couple of days:
we haven't and won't support "generative AI" related stuff in LibreWolf.
Zen currently is disabling all AI features included in Firefox and will continue to do so.

I've finally switched to the @Vivaldi browser. I've been using Firefox for as long as I've been on the internet, but the focus on AI means it's no longer the browser for me. Thankfully unlike Chrome, Vivaldi supports the uBlock Origin extension which is the most important extension for being able to browse the web nowadays.
I already moved away from #Firefox a while ago as I wanted to try #ZenBrowser. It's been great, but with the recent flood of Firefox-related posts here, I've seen a lot of mentions of #Waterfox...
I especially liked the blog post on their stance against #AI in the browser, and the fact that they have formal structures and a legal entity in place.
So from a technical/feature perspective, what are the differences between Zen and Waterfox?
I took some encouragement from the Waterfox "no AI* here" post that's doing the rounds after Mozilla's latest commitment to bad choices.
Particularly encouraged to see the author talk about Waterfox's governance. IIUC it's still a one person project at this point, but for any of these forks to ever grow past their current stage then they'll need some kind of organisation & governance beyond "PRs welcome".
That said... can anyone point me to Waterfox's governance or organisational structure? All I can find is a few blog posts mentioning that it exists.
