Across the Hudson River in Bergen County, NJ, Zohran Mamdani picked up 7 write-in votes for New Jersey governor, beating out other write-in candidates, including: God (2 votes), LeBron James (1), Donald Trump (1), Mickey Mouse (1), Obi Wan Kenobi (1), Xi Jinping (1), and "Myself" (1).
Cuomo did not receive any write-in votes.
Started canvassing for #Zohran at 9am today, ran into two dudes from Spain, who, after apologizing for not being able to vote, wanted to take a selfie with us and said "Good luck, socialism is possible!"
And...it seems to be working, today saw more votes (151k) than on the equivalent day in the *2024 general election* (149k), which is insane!!!!

Mamdani answered questions from Errol Louis for an hour, without notes to refer to, easily recalling and making connections to specific numbers, pilot programs, etc. His demeanor was, per usual, a calm contrast to his opponents'. Louis wanted to cover a ton of public safety issues and so they didn't go into great depth on any one; I do appreciate that he got into some areas that Mamdani's public safety platform document https://docs.google.com/document/d/1a7ejjSZWWIAcxfcWnkYaqvnjihTb0LAOQkj8g10-npg/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.2gazcsgmxkub doesn't mention.
