Eyed Hawk-moths are among our biggest moths. When its forewings are covering its hindwings, the head with its dark markings might ward off a predator, because it looks like a furry face staring back, but if that doesn't work, then it flashes the ocelli (false eyes) on its hindwings and that often does the trick. #pareidolia

It was so cold this afternoon this little goat decided to commandeer the dog house. The dogs didn't mind.

While searching for lichens, I discovered this pretty orange goldfish on a rock on the beach.
It must have jumped out of Lake Huron... 🤔

Is it still #Pareidolia if it looks like a bear?

Wooden plank with two screws and a dark knot that looks like a bear face.

Another weathered plank with two screws and a knot that might look like a bear, but maybe more like the sloth in the Ice Age movie.

This might be my favorite because the two screws are well above a large knot in the plank, and the knot even curls inward suggesting nostrils. Below that is another knot positioned like a crooked little mouth.

A large twisted branch that broke off a tree fell into the meadow below. It resemble a long, sleek animal raising its head our of the grass. It seems to have ears and a long snout and is looking into the distance.
