Thought #Patience was on BBC so was going to watch it on iPlayer.

But it's on #Channel4 so, forgetting why I don't watch #C4 online, I registered - really intrusive, forced suggestion q's etc - so naturally I gave all false info...

Then I see they insist on #DRM which is of course why I never watch C4 online.

Fits though, #Channer4News are always pushing #substack and #WhatsApp like good old fascist lapdogs in thrall to the US oligarchs.

What #DRM tools are people using to ensure they can back up their legally purchased #ebooks these days?

The #DeDRM & #NoDRM plugins for #Calibre that I've found don't seem to be maintained - no new releases since 2022.

There's a new way to liberate purchased Kindle books from Amazon's DRM.

A few points to note:

* Hardcoded to the .com store, but trivial to change to .co.uk
* Uses OCR - so some odd / annoying mistakes - especially around punctuation.
* Every line is wrapped in a `<p>` element - which breaks reflow.

But, other than that, remarkably capable. Once you've got your session token, it only takes a couple of minutes to get an ePub.

Thank you for the clarification and expansion of the description of its transformation of the law. Copyright was a "right" - I wonder how many people even notice the spelling.

A handshake. A reward for creation, limited to guarantee quick addition of the creation to human progress.

Now through bribes and control of legislatures by money, it is applied as a weapon, with generations of control given to "rights purchasers" not content creators.
