Has anybody found a way to set #Kagi #kagisearch as the search engine for the Search Bar on Android? I have the Kagi Search app installed but it's not offered in the bar's settings.

One of @kagihq 鈥榮 absolutely best products is their translation service.
The quality is amazing, they allow you to pick multiple variations (which is particularly helpful if you actually speak the language you are translating to, to some extent), and they sound really quite natural, especially as they try to mimic the original text鈥檚 tone of voice.

Looks like the Orion browser for Kagi hit milestone 3, and based on the screenshots it looks really promising (being a GNOME user, at least).

In the latest comments on the thread, there's also the mention that an alpha build will likely be available for paid Kagi and Orion+ subscribers
This is how companies should improve their product. If you make a good product, people are happy to give feedback.
Companies like to blame regulations for every website asking for cookies, when the real problem is that companies always choose personal convenience over customer inconvenience. #Kagi

Google calendar can be poisoned with invisible, malicious Gemini prompts:

Do I have to stop clicking on calendar invitations? What are the alternatives?
If Google can't get security or "AI" right, what hope is there that anyone will?
Dan, there鈥檚 a huge #degoogle movement here on Mastodon. There鈥檚 also the movement across Europe to get away from US-based digital services. @Tutanota frequently shares tables of options. I鈥檓 about 8 months into being free of Google search, thanks to the far superior paid #Kagi search. (Kagi Translate is also far superior to any other translation service.) I鈥檝e replaced Google files with #CryptPad. #Proton just introduced their AI product, #Lumo, which is completely private. Their calendar product is steadily improving. Google鈥檚 power and influence are waning, as they should in a free market when better products emerge.

Internet search question:
A number of people I follow on Mastodon, including some high profile ones like @pluralistic , recommend Kagi as a search engine. Most of these same folks are not keen on #AI.
But Kagi builds AI right in, I don't even know if it can be turned off. What am I missing?
"Generative AI on the other hand can automatically process and analyze information to answer questions like the one above, thus giving users exactly what they want."
