As of April, about 25k Afghans had received an SIV, & another 160k had pending applications, said Adam Bates, an attorney with the International #Refugee Assistance Program who analyzed #State Dept data.

One former interpreter for US forces in #Afghanistan was detained by ICE agents in Connecticut last month after he showed up for a routine green card appointment. A second was arrested in June, just minutes after attending his first #asylum hearing in San Diego.
