Two of the three regional blood banks serving Washington state are facing a severe #blood shortage due to the lingering effects from heavy rains and floods in December, combined with a slowdown in donations. The shortage is especially bad for Type O blood and platelets, which are in high demand for emergency treatments, surgeries, and other life-saving procedures.

Right now I'm involved in one of the MOST important papers of my life with Hadza hunter-gatherer experts on Hadza beliefs and practice around menstruation, hunting and the moon.

The key here is no one understands Hadza #Epeme--their moon-scheduled ritual for healing and good hunting--unless they also understand menstrual beliefs and practice.

I had to go to the Cancer hospital for a blood draw today, which is always boring and stressful. But there was some cool art hanging in the waiting room and big entry way of the building. Oh, and the results were already posted for me by the time I got home. Looks good!
