Unfortunately I'm not able to attend one of the sit-ins today, like the one in Central Station. So I had to steal this video from a complicit social media site. According to this video the crowd is even more massive than last week on Utrecht CS (todon.nl/@joenepraat/114910041).

[verkeerde account getoot] Treuriger gesteld met de media-aandacht dan vorige week. Ondanks nóg meer sit-ins en nóg meer mensen.

RTV Utrecht: Weer lawaaiprotest in stationshal Utrecht, ook demonstratie op Amersfoort Centraal

"De hal van station Utrecht Centraal staat vanavond opnieuw vol. Honderden demonstranten protesteren er tegen de oorlog en de uithongering in Gaza. Ook op Amersfoort Centraal hebben ongeveer honderd mensen zich verzameld.
Rond 18.00 uur stroomden deelnemers de hal aan de centrumkant van het station in Utrecht binnen. Mensen zwaaien met Palestijnse vlaggen en maken veel geluid met potten, pannen en pollepels. Ook hielden ze een minuut stilte en las iemand een gedicht voor in het Arabisch, Nederland en Engels. …"

This evening there were sit-ins and demonstrations for on almost every Dutch central station. It were the most visited station sit-ins as far as I can remember. This is from CS were I attended. I guess there were almost 1000 people (not a few hundred like the media told us). The front hall was completely full (only a narrow strip, so people could get to their trains and busses). In CS there were according to the same media 1500 people.

After the sit-in, there was a march through Hoog Catharijne (main mall) and the old city center, ending at the city hall.

Burgemeester krijgt veel bijval in de neoliberale media. Ze wordt afgeschilderd als een of andere held die een gevaarlijke bende naar buiten heeft gesleurd en iedereen verhoed heeft voor groooootschalig politiegeweld. (Waar ze trouwens alle ervaring mee heeft 🙄, dus vat ik dat maar op als een bedreiging.) En de doet ook voor de zoveelste keer niet aan hoor- en wederhoor.

Tot slot (waar het echt over moet gaan) een zeer grote schande dat de Utrechtse fracties van o.a. , de (dûh) en (hallo Kaag 👋🏻) tegen de burgermotie hebben gestemd. Van partijen als de en het zijn we zulke fratsen wel gewend. Alle tegenstemmers hebben bloed aan hun landen!

Dit moest ik nog even kwijt voor het slapen gaan. 🥱
