Ditch Discord! In early March, Discord will begin age verification for all users world-wide. This is a violation of your freedom and privacy!

Consider one of the following alternatives:

For those of us who simply don’t vibe with competitions: is there a hackathon format that isn’t competitive? Even “For social good” ones seem to involve teams competing to come up with the most innovative idea. For my brain it makes more sense for teams to come up with ideas and then share, combine if it makes sense, and riff on each others’. I have a sense that something along these lines would be more appealing to rather a lot of us and the focus on competitive ones might be a bit exclusionary.

Is this a thing and I’ve missed it? Would you like it to be a thing?

Boosts very welcome!

Bonjour Masto,

"Banning is harsh! Why not talk to the person instead?

The situation seems complicated, and it seems like the most logical course of action is to simply ask the person to explain what they meant. The takeaway from this article is 'Ban Bigots', not 'Ask Bigots to Expound on Their Opinion And Then Decide Whether or Not to Ban Bigots', and I’ll tell you why in four, simple words: It gets fucking exhausting."

Don't feed the trolls, for sure.
