#Mastodon, il social network decentralizzato che ha sfidato #X durante il caos dell'era #Musk, sta affrontando la sua più grande trasformazione dalla nascita. Il suo creatore e volto pubblico, Eugen Rochko, ha annunciato che lascerà il ruolo di CEO come parte di una profonda ristrutturazione che vedrà l'organizzazione trasformarsi in un ente #non-profit.

L'obiettivo di questa transizione è rendere Mastodon un'istituzione duratura e indipendente, slegata dal destino di un singolo leader e, soprattutto, a prova di miliardario. Rochko ha sottolineato come piattaforme come X, Threads e Facebook siano controllate da individui immensamente ricchi che possono influenzare il dibattito pubblico, mentre Mastodon, con la sua nuova natura non-profit (con sede legale in via di definizione in Belgio), vuole garantire un'alternativa libera da queste influenze.
