I'm going for my surgery consolation this week and i'm nervous as hell I'll admit! But there's nothing more than I want for my surgeries to be completed so I can live a better life instead of being in constant pain.
If you don't know me, then allow me to introduce myself. I'm Kaz! I'm an 18 year old trans guy living in California. I have bilateral cleft lip and palate which also affects my jaw. My parents lacked the medical attention I needed as a child which has made my surgeries very delayed and come with more risks. I'm finally at a point of being able to go to my first surgery which will transition into the second. I won't be allowed to work during these periods as I need to let my body rest and recover. I only work 2 days a week at minimum wage so I won't be able to pay for this surgery at all with what I'm working with, along with cover the food I'll need since I won't be able to eat solids.
I've made a GoFundMe to help with my surgery needs, whatever that isn't used from the GoFundMe will be donated to #MutualAids here on Fediverse.

NM #primaryschool students will take the “#AI enhanced” Amira reading test (replacing iStation). When asked how the AI will be able to correctly compute #newcomer accents, speech impediments, etc. to accurately determine #student #fluency and placement, the trainer - I kid you not - opened up the Amira AI chat to ask it how it worked. It received a very confident answer about using multiple measures. This happened in front of my actual eyeballs. #education #elementary #newmexico #assessment
