#introduction
Yesterday at the @digiSberlin conference, the Brücke-Museum Berlin presented its digitization project on Karl Schmidt-Rottluff’s collection of objects from colonial contexts. All objects have been published on #wikiCommons, allowing everyone to contribute and reuse. Usage in wiki projects is still limited. If any #wiki contributors with expertise in the cultural history of Oceania, Africa, or Latin America would like to take a look, your input would be very welcome. https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Karl_Schmidt-Rottluff%27s_Collection_of_Objects_from_Colonial_Contexts_in_the_Br%C3%BCcke-Museum_Berlin&filefrom=Palm+Wine+Vessel%2C+Cameroon%2C+Br%C3%BCcke-Museum+Berlin%2C+64984%2C+view+b.jpg#mw-category-media

For those of you who read lots of papers or non-fiction that you need to reference again, how do you manage all of that data and relate it to other things?
I’ve been using #zotero and #obsidian to make a sort of knowledge management #wiki, but organizing the data from highlights takes considerable brain power. I’m sure this is just the way it’s gotta work, but I’d love any tips! I’d especially like tips on when to start refactoring or how to best organize things.

Fediverse + Wiki
Been thinking about fediverse wiki after @2chanhaeng mentioned it today. Some ideas:
- Cross-instance page linking:
[[Page Title@other-instance.wiki]] - Edit pages on other instances with your home account
- Fork pages across instances:
[[Page@instance-a.wiki]]→[[Page@instance-b.wiki]], sharing edit history up to the fork point
- Merge forked pages later when needed
The fork/merge model feels natural for federated collaboration. Thoughts?

I've reached a milestone: There are now 300 translations of German folk tales on my wiki.
471 further tales to go. Of course, by the time I have added _those_ I will probably have finished a few dozens of further translations...

New #Project with my friends!

We are making our own #OSDev / #KernelDev #Wiki. (We're aware of osdev.org and osdev.wiki.)
The wiki source is on #Codeberg. We aim to be a modern and reliable source for AARCH64 and x86_64 OSDev, documenting kernels and how they work so others can learn from them and being a friendly newcomer place.
We may do other architectures including 32-bit too but our main focus are the ones we picked.

TL;DR: There's some amount of friction in the #marketplace that prevents #fraud and prevents a large amount of non-fraud. Somehow understanding and tuning for that is what can make or break a #business.
I just read #wiki to catch up on #Kickstarter, and there's definitely an optimal amount of how much of a #business platform you can move to the #blockchain, and it's exactly zero.

I'm catching up on @pluralistic 's newsletter and there was a line in https://pluralistic.net/2025/09/05/be-the-first-person/#to-not-do-something-that-no-one-else-has-ever-thought-of-not-doing-before that reminded me of an article I read recently:
> So #Kickstarter jettisoned the escrow step, handing campaign creators the full payout and then trusting them not to run off with the dough. The platform understood that this would allow a certain amount of #fraud and failure, but deemed it worthwhile, especially after they took countermeasures to minimize backer losses, such as...
