okay, so i was able to get a new paint set at michaels last week: a 48-color set for $16 with one of their numerous coupons. (omfg, the neverending sale emails they send 
) it ain't nowhere near as patchy as that last set i had to send back, but it is rather thin for acrylic paint. it's more like a heavy watercolor-sorta thing to me.
