The #MarchForHumanity in early August saw ~300k people peacefully gather to march across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, a powerful statement of opposition to the #GazaGenocide (and of protest against the #ALP government's failure to #SanctionIsrael or even cease arms trade).
Imagine if, just hours after that march ended, one of the speakers who had helped lead the march then turned up with 50+ men of Middle Eastern heritage (faces masked in kufiyas) at a synagogue and assaulted a group of women, putting a couple in hospital.
It would be front page news for weeks. The government would probably proscribe the rally organisers as a designated terrorist organisation. More laws would be passed. There would be a (further) massive spike in #Islamophobic 'vigilante' violence.
Now stop imagining and compare with what actually happened on the weekend in Naarm/Melbourne.
Infamous neo-nazi Thomas Sewell, one of the speakers at the 'March for (White) Australia' marched with his henchmen at the head of the xenophobic gathering. Hours later, Sewell turned up at an Indigenous solidarity camp with 50+ intern goons and assaulted a group of mainly women, hospitalising two and wounding more.
Yet did a single mainstream media org put that story on their front page?
