Some people in #Iran successfully use delta with national email providers when outside Internet is cut.
#deltachat designs are #OfflineFirst using delay tolerant protocols. Messages are queued when a path is blocked. email servers are made for this and run at planetary scale.
Messages crossing the border may arrive three days later but they arrive.
Peoples can stay in private touch across time and space, to the extent possible in current breakdown times. Which is what delta is about.
There’s more than one way to automate conflict resolution in your #OfflineFirst database
@couchdb makes it easy and notoriously reliable by choosing a deterministic winner and storing conflicts
The best part?
🖼️ You can manage conflicts yourself in CouchDB’s built-in UI, Fauxton!

@jowek @abekonge @douginamug OMG this looks amazing! So thrilled to see Peer2Panda being rolled out like this! <3

Our presentation from @openalt konference 2025 in Brno is now online! 🐼 🙌🏻
In this talk @adz and @glyph present an overview of the peer-to-peer problem space and describe how each of the p2panda modules are designed to provide Connectivity, Discovery, Sync, Encryption, Access Control, Transactions and more.
Thanks again to everyone who helped make the conference possible! We had a fantastic time.

This is the most fun you’ll have choosing your next #LocalFirst#OfflineFirst stack:
https://www.localfirst.fm/landscape
You’ll find @pouchdb and @couchdb in there too, with filters to help you maximise compatibility for your next use case
Thanks to @localfirstfm for putting it together ✨

OUT NOW! Our Part II Blog Post on building a convergent, offline-first Access Control CRDT!🍿🪩🧨
https://p2panda.org/2025/08/27/notes-convergent-access-control-crdt.html
Integrity, Provenance, Partial Ordering, Linearization, Concurrency, Conflicts, Consensus, Finality, Equivocation, Byzantine Fault Tolerance and Eventual Consistency, ..
This contains a lot of notes about what you might want to know when building a data type which should be collaborative, convergent and decentralized.

My lightning talk about How to Sync Anything from the #LocalFirst meetup last week is online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3983rz8ja1U
It was great fun, especially the (not recorded, sorry) discussion afterwards.
It’s been a challenge to cram all that info into 15 minutes and I’m going fast, but I hope I captured all the important points in enough detail.
The one thing I’m trying to establish is that sync is a safer abstraction over a network than any manual API goo much like foreach() or map() are safer iteration primitives than a a manually indexed for(let idx=0; idx<list.length; idx++) {} loop. Wdyt? #OfflineFirst #LocalFirst

I’ll be talking about How to Sync Anything at the Local-First LoFi/#29 event tomorrow night.
You can join via the LoFi Discord (don’t @ me): https://lofi.so
See you there! o/

As we saw at the @localfirstconf this year, initial sync in #OfflineFirst and #LocalFirst can be tricky to build and slow for users.
Our team wrote up some ways @pouchdb and @couchdb are able to do “Partial Data Fetching on Initial Load,” including filtered replication or switching to a remote DB.
More about these strategies and how to implement them on our blog:
