The technology has me stumped, again. Self hosted Nextcloud server, up-dated and running. I can access as normal from my phone and Firefox mobile reports 'verified by letsencrypt'. I can SSH into the server from my desktop and access the AIO dashboard on the server via Firefox. BUT I can't use the web interface dashboard or the desktop sync app. Both report SSL error. Suggestions anyone? Online search isn't helping. #Nextcloud #AIO #SSL #Linux

🥳 Auto-Encrypt Localhost version 9.0.0 released

Bye bye, Windows.

• Windows is no longer supported as Microsoft is complicit in Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people¹ and Small Technology Foundation² stands in solidarity with the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement³). Windows is an ad-infested and surveillance-ridden dumpster fire of an operating system and, alongside supporting genocide, you are putting both yourself and others at risk by using it.

Enjoy!

💕

About Auto-Encrypt Localhost:

https://codeberg.org/small-tech/auto-encrypt-localhost#readme

Auto Encrypt Localhost is similar to the Go utility [mkcert](https://github.com/FiloSottile/mkcert/) but with the following important differences:

1. It’s written in pure JavaScript for Node.js.

2. It does not require certutil to be installed.

3. It uses a different technique to install its certificate authority in the system trust store of macOS.

4. It uses enterprise policies on all platforms to get Firefox to include its certificate authority from the system trust store.

5. In addition to its Command-Line Interface, it can be used programmatically to automatically handle local development certificate provisioning while creating your server.

Auto-Encrypt Localhost is licensed under AGPL version 3.0.

10 Years of Let's Encrypt

10 Years of Let's Encrypt Certificates

On September 14, 2015, our first publicly-trusted certificate went live. We were proud that we had issued a certificate that a significant majority of clients could accept, and had done it using automated software. Of course, in retrospect this was just the first of billions of certificates. Today, Let’s Encrypt is the largest certificate authority in the world in terms of certificates issued, the ACME protocol we helped create and standardize is integrated throughout the server ecosystem, and we’ve become a household name among system administrators. We’re closing in on protecting one billion web sites.

@farooqkz I agree. On many of my servers, I'm using acme.sh or lego. Or acme client on OpenBSD, of course

I have had good experience with 'lego' - Lets Encrypt in Go - stand alone binary that can run on almost any system. Automate with cron.

Yesterday, 10 years ago, Let's Encrypt issued their first #TLS #certificate to the domain name helloworld.letsencrypt.org. Since then, they issued 7 billion certificates.

To quote Borat: "Great success!"

Congrats!

Okay I've used up all other options, so now it's #FollowerPower and #FediMagic :

Would someone here be able to help me fix my broken #Yunohost instance? I've been without email for several weeks now 😓

All apps and admin interface work without problems, but #Dovecot fails to start with a cryptic #SSL error. I've tried the forum of course but so far without success.

Happy to share logs and all. Thanks a million! 🙏
